Ann Likeman
Ann started her career in 1975 as a teacher and moved on to leadership roles in secondary education. After joining a Local Authority in 1999 as a School Improvement Officer with link adviser responsibilities in secondary and primary schools, she was promoted in 2003 to become a Senior Improvement Manager. She worked successfully in all phases of education, supporting headteachers and governing bodies in their school improvement strategy. Ann also specialised in workforce strategy and continuing professional development working closely with schools, regional and national organisations on workforce priorities.
Leading various teams, both within the structures of discrete job roles and through instigating collaborative partnerships across schools and other organisations, Ann always works with people to achieve outcomes and build capacity for change. Some examples of this include securing partners to work with a school to enter into a Trust arrangement, supporting groups of schools in developing their vision and partnership priorities and facilitating various project groups.
Ann has vast experience of successful design, delivery and facilitation of innovative and challenging professional development programmes and conferences about leadership for middle and senior leaders. Recently she has developed and facilitated a talent spotting programme for people new to the profession and a Leadership Assessment Centre approach for aspirant headteachers. Programmes are always tailored to meet the needs of participants and include practical and realistic learning activities to develop practice. Her skills as a coach bring an appropriate level of challenge to all conversations.
Passionate about the leadership competencies and behaviours that empower people, Ann always encourages leaders to aspire to the highest standards and achievements for children and young people.
